Warehouse Associate

Riverside, CA

Function: The position of Warehouse Worker is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
  • Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list.
  • Prepares a receiving report if none is available.
  • Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Appropriately report/record any discrepancies.
  • To accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner.
  • Enter quantity received against the purchase order in the computer system and print back order and inventory stock put away list.
  • Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.
  • Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers.
  • Preparation of all shipping documentation.
  • Review all orders to determine if they were picked correctly.
  • Ensure warehouse/equipment is maintained on a regular basis.
  • Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area.
  • To accurately identify and count stock materials as listed on the cycle count list.
Competencies:
  • Be able to identify product by size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Solid reading skills – must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.
  • Basic math skills and reasoning skills.
  • Certification of power-truck equipment for specific jobs.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions.
  • General understanding of the warehouse and footprint.
  • Operate inventory control equipment, i.e., bar-coding equipment, handheld devices, computers.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Warehouse and distribution experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
  • Position spends 95% amount of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job functions within a specific department


Production/Assembly
  • Assemble software titles on the manual lines

    Repetitive functions:

    • Load product specific materials into the box insert (i.e.: manuals, CD’s, DVD’s, flyers, etc.).
    • Fold retail boxes.
    • Apply Mylar buttons to each end of retail box.
    • Apply Velcro button to retail box flap.
    • Use heat guns to remove various labels from the retail box.
    • Fill master cartons with product, seal the master carton, and stack on pallets.
    • Use box cutter to open sealed materials master cartons.
    • Apply master carton labels to master cartons
    • Form master cartons and tape bottom side

    NON-Repetitive functions:

    • Reconfigure products from one style to another.
    • Use pallet jack to move completed pallets around the assembly floor.
    • Fill out work order tracking sheet for each individual work order.
    • Computer usage:
      • Input data daily into weekly production spreadsheet
      • Print labels for master cartons, UPC’s for all products, custom labels for specific jobs
  • Assemble software titles on the automated lines

    Repetitive functions:

    • Load product specific materials into the stream feeders (i.e.: manuals, CD’s, DVD’s, flyers, etc.).
    • Fill master cartons with product, seal the master carton, and stack on pallets.
    • Apply master carton labels to master cartons
    • Form master cartons and tape bottom side

    NON-Repetitive functions:

    • Load former with corrugate
    • Load hopper with retail boxes
    • Set-up automated equipment for specific products (Former, Feeders, Hopper, Weigh station, Label machines, Mylar machines, UPC machine).
  • Assemble/Rework 3PL products on the manual lines

    Repetitive functions:

    • Rework products into different configurations
    • Label products with UPC
    • Re-label products that have the incorrect information on the master cartons
Receiving/Returns
  • Unload delivery trucks and containers manually or if on pallets using a forklift and signoff all required paperwork
  • Receive product via scanner or manual input in computer system
  • Verify all paperwork is in order and notify all required individuals and companies by email, phone, verbally.
  • Put away all product into locations
  • Schedule all inbound trucks and containers
Inventory
  • Pick production work orders using a cherry picker type forklift
  • Manage inventory and production work orders in computer system
  • Perform daily cycle counts
  • Put away production work orders using a cherry picker type forklift
  • Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Shipping
  • Process all retail and end-user orders

    Repetitive functions:

    • Fill master cartons with product, seal the master carton, and stack on pallets.
    • Apply master carton labels to master cartons
    • Form master cartons and tape bottom side
    • Use pallet jack to move completed pallets around the shipping floor.
    • Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
    • Label pallets with all required labels
    • Wrap pallets with stretch wrap
    • Process orders through RF gen scanner system
    • Load trucks with order specific products/pallets
    • Process orders through DSI system using a computer
    • Pick orders using a cherry picker type forklift
    • Hand pick orders from the flow line racks
